If you are a refugee visual artist, working in whatever medium, you can log details about yourself and your work safely on this site. The Web provides an ideal space to make contacts with whatever degree of anonymity or openness you feel comfortable with. You can give your real name or a pseudonym and you only need leave an email address.

If you would like to be on this list, please e-mail: alex.rotas@blueyonder.co.uk. Or, preferably, use this submission form.

Please tell us something about yourself. You need to give a certain amount of information if others are to learn about you and your work.

Please give your name (or pseudonym) and a way of contacting you (I suggest email address) and say whether you are male or female. Please say what type of art you practise (eg ceramics, painting (give your preferred medium/media), photography etc). Please give your nationality and say what language(s) you speak/understand/write. If you have a Webpage, do give it. It would be helpful to know what part of the UK you live in, so you could say 'London' or 'Plymouth' or just 'the north west' if you prefer. It would be interesting for my research if you were able to give a rough indication of your age (for example, 'in my thirties') but of course you are under no obligation to do so. If you want to give more details about the way you work (for example, what inspires you), or indeed about yourself, please do.

I hope eventually to provide space on this page for artists to control themselves. Thus, you can edit and update your own details providing as much or as little information as you want to. Until the system is in place though, please use e-mail.

Through my art practice I try to express a constant fascination I have with pushing the boundaries of (un)predictability.
The choice of the materials that I am working with is an important part of the work and so are various influences that have inspired me to take a particular direction with each piece created. It is a never ending quest, to marry a simple joy of playing with colours and materials with a deeper need to say sentences and stories that are constantly bubbling inside my soul, patiently queuing, waiting to be expressed.
Please see my web-site to find out more about myself and to see my work.
